Hey friend!
So you’ve caught the Merge Dragons bug and now you’re aiming to hit that 3,000 Dragon Power mark. I’ve been there too, and I’m here to help you get there without spending real money and without getting burnt out.
Let’s break this down, step-by-step. Whether you’re a newbie or just need a focused game plan, you’ll be well on your way to hitting 3K DP in a month or less.
What Is Dragon Power and Why 3000?
In Merge Dragons, Dragon Power (DP) is the total power value of all your unlocked dragons. Every dragon you hatch or merge contributes to this total. Some dragons give 4 power, some 8, some 16, and higher-tier dragons offer even more.
The 3,000 DP milestone unlocks the Den feature, which lets you join other players in a clan-like setup. It’s where the game gets more social, you can participate in weekly events, and it just feels like you’re part of a bigger world. Trust me, it’s worth the hustle.
Overview of Your 30-Day Plan
Here’s the TL;DR game plan:
- Focus on merging dragons, not just playing random levels.
- Farm Dragon Eggs smartly—especially from Challenge Levels and Secret Levels.
- Play events every weekend (they’re gold mines).
- Open chests wisely and avoid wasting Dragon Gems.
- Be patient but strategic with merges—don’t rush unless it’s worth it.
Let’s go into detail…
Week 1: Setup and Strategy
🐣 Step 1: Clean Up Your Camp
You need space to work, so your first task is to clear out your camp. Use your starter dragons to harvest life orbs, heal the land, and free up mergeables. Do 5 merges instead of 3 merges whenever you can—this gives more dragons for the same number of objects.
Goal: Merge your way to 1000 DP or so in the first week. It’s very possible!
📦 Step 2: Use Dragon Homes
Don’t let your dragons sit around doing nothing. Tap their homes to send them to sleep faster, so they recover stamina and can keep harvesting, healing, and clearing the camp. Efficiency matters.
🔍 Step 3: Grind Challenge & Secret Levels
Start grinding those Challenge Levels (like Chal. 1, 2, 3…) and Secret Levels (like “Zomblin Falls 1” or “Grassy 4”). They usually reward you with dragon eggs or chests. You can replay them over and over once you’ve beaten them. Here are links to a good wiki about Challenge Levels and Secret Levels.
Pro Tip: Secret levels are often better than regular ones for egg farming. Replay them as part of your daily routine.
Week 2: Smart Egg Farming
Now that you’ve got your camp organized, you’re ready to focus on eggs—the main source of Dragon Power.
🥚 Best Eggs to Farm
Some eggs are easier to farm than others. Stick with dragons that are in multiple levels, and ideally, ones that appear in events or give you more bang for your buck.
Recommended Early Game Dragon Types:
- Grass Dragon – From levels like Grassy 4.
- Life Dragon – Super common, easy to get from chests and levels.
- Rock Dragon – Found in Challenge Levels and easier levels.
- Tera Dragon – Available in some early zones.
- Zomblin Dragon – Get these from defeating Zomblins in camp.
When you replay a level, you’ll often get eggs or egg chests. Save those chests in your camp and merge them in 5s to get the best results.
🐉 Merge for Power
Don’t just merge any 3 eggs when you get them—wait for 5 to merge so you get 2 dragons instead of 1. This is key. You’ll get to 3,000 DP much faster this way.
Week 3: Master Events
Every weekend (usually Friday to Monday), there’s an in-game event. These are essential for your journey to 3,000 DP.
🎉 Why Events Matter
- You can earn multiple dragon eggs from the event’s reward chain.
- At Tier 10 and Tier 11, you’ll get Level 2 or 3 dragons, which give huge DP.
- Events are often the best source of rare dragons like Roc, Dandelion, or Cosmos.
🗓️ How to Beat Events Without Spending
- Use only one or two dragons to harvest so you don’t flood your screen.
- Merge in 5s.
- Save Life Orbs and do a big heal when you’ve charged up at least a Life Orb of Heavens.
- Hit up YouTube for “Merge Dragons [event name] walkthrough” to see the best strategy for that specific weekend.
Goal: Try to complete at least the first 8-9 tiers of an event. That alone can give you enough eggs and dragons to add 400–600 DP in one weekend.
Week 4: Chest Management and Camp Optimization
You’re now pushing toward the 2,500–3,000 range. Nice work! Let’s clean up and fine-tune your strategy to cross the finish line.
🧰 Chest Tip: Don’t Waste Dragon Gems!
Dragon Gems are precious. Do NOT spend them on dragon chests unless you know for sure you’re getting a great deal. A better use is buying egg chests when they show up on sale in the camp.
Free chests (Wooden, Stone, or Dragon Egg chests) drop all the time from merges. You can stack them up in camp and merge 5 together for better chests that contain rarer eggs.
Also: Pay attention to Mystery Eggs (wiki) in camp shop. Buy and merge them when they’re affordable.
Additional Power Tips
Here are some often-overlooked ways to boost Dragon Power fast:
🔄 Camp Quests & Goals
Complete as many camp quests as possible—they sometimes reward dragon eggs or dragons directly.
🧠 Use the Dragon Book
Tap the book icon to see all dragon types and how many you’ve unlocked. It’s a great way to track what types are close to being mergeable. Focus on those.
🗺️ Star Levels
Replay Star Levels to get Level Rewards. Some of these levels drop chests and eggs you might have missed. Check each level’s 1, 2, and 3-star reward tiers.
What Not to Do
- ❌ Don’t buy random eggs with Dragon Gems.
- ❌ Don’t rush merges unless you’re about to unlock something critical.
- ❌ Don’t waste dragons by making 3-merges. Be patient—it pays off.
- ❌ Don’t ignore weekend events. They’re your best shot at giant DP leaps.
🏆 Final Push: Last 2–3 Days
If you’re within 300–500 DP of your goal near the end, here’s what to do:
- Clean out your chest storage and merge stored egg chests.
- Check your camp’s dragon homes—you might have dragons waiting to be hatched.
- Grind any remaining Secret Levels and finish open Star Levels.
- Re-merge dragons if you held back on big merges. If you’ve got 5 Level 2 dragons, make that Level 3!
You’ll be surprised how quickly those numbers jump once you go through your stored eggs and chests.
🎉 You Hit 3,000 DP!
Now you’ve unlocked the Den, can start doing Den Events, and you’ve proven you can make a goal and smash it. There’s still a lot more to do, but getting to 3,000 DP is one of the most satisfying early milestones in the game.
Happy merging!

Awesome guide—this helped me a ton when I was aiming for 3K Dragon Power! One tip I’d add that worked really well for me: Don’t ignore the Merge Chains in camp like Trees, Life Flowers, and Hills. When you focus on merging these in 5s, you often get bonus dragon eggs or chests as rewards. I got a bunch of extra eggs just by maxing out some of those chains over time. It’s a bit of a slow burn, but it adds up big-time!
Thanks again for putting this together 💚🐲
